FYP meeting 4

FYP meeting 4
Venue: school library
Time: 1pm to 4 pm
Attendance: Choon Hua, Kun Rong, Sok Hong

Objective: finish up FYP blog, start to catalogue

What we have done for the day:
• exploring WordPress
• setting up of FYP blog
• standardize database
• standardize of blog

We need to do up a FYP logbook, a blog style kind. I find this very stupid, because i dont know how to blog, and my team member all not blogger siao 1.

We decided to use wordpress as our FYP blog, as they say is easier then other blog web.

When i first enter, i lia bo giu “catch no ball” alot of things need to be done, such as design wise, writing of post, the things that i would like to include in it. I honestly dont know how to do it.

But CHoon Hua and Sokhong went on to explore on the blog, whereas for me i went on to look for security agencies contacts online. I went to see E guides, they have a compilation of all the security agencies in Singapore, with different offered services.

After that, i come out with the excel sheet, that include columns like:

Name of Company, Address, Contact Number, Category, Resources and Retrieve date

1st FYP Meeting with Wee Leong

Venue: School Library
Time: 12pm – 12.30pm
Purpose: Discuss about the ways we can approach our project
As Mention earlier with my teammates, we were thinking of approaching our project at the angle of Venue owner perspective of Security for the events that they have hold.

Wee leong provide us some insights with regard to what we can do. Since our FYP focus is on security agencies, we were advise to focus on “man” security instead of IT side. The suggested focus was on catalouging the security agencies in Singapore, and hopefully we are able to obtain thier email, and sent in Survey. We will be meeting up and source for websites for this catalogue.

After cataloguing, we would like to do a comparison. Such as knowing which agencies provide what kind of security services. We should also look into the security standards that associations had set for Singapore.

Our team became clearer as to what approach we are looking into, and decide on the cataloguing first.

FYP Meeting 2

Date: August 7th 2008
Time: 3.30pm – 5pm
Venue: Starbucks, Opposite Fullerton
Present: Sok Hong, Choon Hua, Kun Rong and Sean

Today we went to Starbucks to discuss about our propose project scope. Which angle are we going to look into. Our previous idea was to choose green in event venue, how does venue owner practise environment friendly things.

Thus, we decided to use the similar concept, and put it into our designated topic. This time we will look into various venues in terms of how they are able to provide event security for Event Organizers.

We will be looking into various different Venues namely:
Singapore Expo
Suntec
Raffles city convention center
Esplanade
Hotels
Instituitions

The Scope that we are going to propose will be interviewing indept research with the venue owner as to ask them what are the responsibility they are going to cover.

We would also will look into various associations that have set certain standards or benchmark for security company. What are the types of security aspects that they have, the various category they are in.

We have also work out the work plan of our project and submit it to our advisor. Next meeting we would think of doing up our blog.

FYP Meeting 14th August 2008

Today FYP Meeting Agenda was about our Project outline, and to which approach are we going to use.

I am unable to attend the meeting, due to a workshop on that day.

The agenda discuss was to evaluate the various Venue owner, in terms of the security personnel that they are going to provide for the event itself.

Choon Hua decided to ask her event company regarding the various security agencies that they have use before, we will then interview them on the Security service they provide for the event.
